On August 3rd and 4th, 2024, the Uday Unit in Aulia organized a transformative two-day leadership training program for child leaders representing 11 villages. A total of 153 children—58 boys and 95 girls—actively participated in this initiative, facilitated by Ms. Karuna and Sr. Sagari AC, staff members from Uday, Bhopal.
The training was designed to be interactive, engaging, and educational, leveraging play-based methods and group activities to impart essential leadership skills. Participants took part in games, group discussions, chart-making exercises, and PowerPoint presentations, all of which emphasized key aspects of leadership such as teamwork, personal responsibility, and gender equality.
A highlight of the program was the sharing session, where each village group showcased their ongoing community initiatives. The children discussed the progress of their efforts and identified pressing challenges within their communities. Issues raised included inadequate access to drinking water, poor road infrastructure, limited educational facilities, and the growing menace of drug abuse.
This empowering training session helped the young leaders gain a deeper understanding of their roles in improving their communities. Inspired and equipped with practical skills, the children left with a renewed sense of purpose, ready to contribute to positive changes both in their villages and in their personal lives.
