VIVAT President Sr. Miriam Altenhofen, SSpS, Visits New York to Strengthen Global Advocacy

From September 8 to 13, Sr. Miriam Altenhofen, SSpS, President of VIVAT International, undertook an official visit to the organization’s New York office. This visit was an integral part of her commitment to advancing VIVAT’s mission of promoting justice, peace, and sustainable development on a global scale.

During her time in New York, Sr. Miriam engaged closely with the VIVAT Team, offering guidance and gaining deeper insights into their ongoing advocacy initiatives. Her visit coincided with the opening of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), providing her an opportunity to witness global discussions shaping the future of international policy.

Sr. Miriam also participated in significant meetings with the Religious at the United Nations (RUN) and the Justice Coalition of Religious (JCoR). These engagements emphasized the importance of collaboration between faith-based organizations and broader civil society networks in addressing critical global issues such as poverty, inequality, and climate change.

The visit underscored Sr. Miriam’s dedication to strengthening partnerships and amplifying the collective voice of VIVAT International in advocating for transformative change through the United Nations and other key platforms.
