VIVAT was one of the cosponsors of the side event at the Global Forum for Migration and Development(GFMD) 2017, held in Berlin. The event looked at the Political Declaration and Action Plan (VAP) of Africa, an outcome of the Valletta Summit on Migration in 2015. The Summit took place because of the initiative of the European Union (EU). The declaration aimed to major issues at the center of migration governance between the two regions. The side event aimed to further understand the two processes especially in their intersections, for better governance for safe and orderly mobility in dignity and respect for human rights of all migrants regardless of their status.
