DCF7: VIVAT Intervention

The UN General Assembly mandates that the Development Cooperation Forum (DCF) work directly informs the global reviews by the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development and the ECOSOC Forum on Financing for Development.  The DCF meets as part of the Forum on Financing Sustainable Development (FSD).  The President of ECOSOC convenes the DCF; the Forum is open to all Member States and engages all stakeholders, including civil society, private sector, Parliamentarians, local authorities, international and regional organizations, and development banks.  The DCF is the principal global platform for policy dialogue on development cooperation. Discussions are reality-based, action-oriented, and results-focused.

The 2021 Development Cooperation Forum (DCF) intended to advance international development cooperation that reduces risk, enables recovery, and builds resilience in the COVID-19 period and beyond.  This year was the DCF’s 7th biennial high-level meeting since its creation by world leaders in 2005.  It was held from May 6 to 7, 2021.  Daniel LeBlanc OMI was asked to intervene as a member of VIVAT International and its representative on the NGO Committee on Financing for Development (FfD). Daniel spoke regarding “STRENGTHENING HEALTH SYSTEMS IN VULNERABLE COUNTRIES.”
